Local Map Ranking Grid
An archived local ranking grid from the project. At this capture point, the grid is almost entirely position 1, with isolated position 2 and 3 cells across the Augusta area.

A local search campaign built around Google My Business, now Google Business Profile, on-page SEO, local citations, directory coverage, and off-page authority work. The project archive includes ranking-grid, Google local-result, and backlink-profile screenshots.
The challenge
The towing business was established, but it was not earning strong visibility for the local searches that mattered most. The goal was to improve both ordinary Google search visibility and Google Maps coverage in a competitive Augusta market.
My role
I worked on the local SEO execution: business-profile optimization, on-page improvements, local citations and listings, off-page authority work, backlink acquisition, and repeated ranking checks to identify where visibility was still weak.

LOCAL FOUNDATION
The first phase focused on the business profile, website pages, local service signals, citations, and directory consistency so the business and its Augusta service area reinforced each other.
AUTHORITY
After the first ranking gains, later work concentrated on citations, relevant directories, backlink opportunities, and the weaker areas that still needed authority or local relevance.
The first round of work moved the tracked primary terms into the top 10. That gave the next rounds a clearer job: improve the locations and queries where the business was still weaker instead of repeating the same activity everywhere.
Over roughly four months, the archived project notes record a substantial improvement in organic and map visibility. The client also reported more calls arriving through the business profile.
I do not have a clean historical export of traffic or call totals in this archive, so I am not publishing a made-up growth percentage. The case study sticks to the process, the client-reported direction, and the ranking evidence that still exists.
These screenshots are historical snapshots from the project archive. They show what was visible at capture time rather than promising that rankings stay fixed forever. The Ahrefs image contains third-party historical metrics, which I treat as context rather than as a claim that every link shown came from my work.

An archived Google result for "towing in augusta" showing T-Dog Towing first in the captured local results. This is a point-in-time screenshot, not a claim that the same position is permanent.

What I learned
Local SEO is not one ranking. Search visibility changes by query, location, device, and time, so a useful campaign needs several views: the business profile, the website, local ranking coverage, calls or leads, and the authority around the domain.
This project also sits in a different SEO era. Some off-page tactics that were common in 2021 were more aggressive than I would recommend today. My current approach is more conservative: relevant citations, legitimate directories, useful local pages, strong business-profile information, real reviews, earned links, and clean measurement.
