The promise concerned the journey between orbits

Impulse Space and its partners announced a series of missions in September 2025 built around faster access to high orbits. The central transport promise was specific: after a rocket placed a payload in low Earth orbit, Impulse's Helios kick stage would carry it to geostationary orbit in less than a day.

Astranis described that approach in a September 15 agreement targeting a 2027 launch for its MicroGEO communications satellites. Its announcement contrasted the proposed chemical-propulsion transfer with the slower electric-propulsion orbit raising it had traditionally used. The projected time saving was a mission design claim, not a completed flight result.

Three announcements addressed different customers and tasks

On September 12, Impulse announced a multi-launch agreement with Infinite Orbits for spacecraft carried through its Caravan rideshare program beginning in 2027. The release described multiple servicing and inspection spacecraft, with Helios providing the transfer after launch to low Earth orbit.

A September 16 announcement with Anduril targeted a 2026 demonstration involving rendezvous and proximity operations. That plan paired Impulse's Mira spacecraft with Anduril payloads and used Helios for the transfer to the demonstration orbit. The sensing and maneuvering work would occur after Mira separated, rather than being identical to the transport stage's job.

A schedule is not a record of delivery

Together, the agreements explain the commercial and demonstration missions behind the same-day transport pitch. They do not show that every announced launch occurred on schedule or that a customer can request arbitrary orbital delivery within 24 hours. The relevant interval was the planned low-to-high-orbit transfer. Launch timing, spacecraft preparation and subsequent mission operations remained separate parts of each plan. Those distinctions keep the company's speed claim tied to what it actually proposed, without treating a signed agreement as a successful deployment.
